Downtown Design
Show Description
This district is generally located in the downtown area and is intended to protect and perpetuate the predominant architectural character of the district. See Article 14 for more details.

East Third Street Residential Historic District

This district was established pursuant to the procedures and requirements set forth in Title 13, Chapter 4 of the municipal code. Refer to that for more details.
Floodplain

This district includes those lands within the 100-year floodplain. See Article 9 for all of the special requirements.
Lighting District Zone 1
Show Description
There are two lighting districts. Zone 1 allows more lumens per acre than in Zone 2 (the rest of the city). See Article 19 of the zoning code for all of the requirements.
Shoreland

This district includes land within the shoreland area (i.e., generally 1,000 feet from lakes and 300 feet from streams). See Article 13 for all of the special requirements that may apply.
Shoreland-Wetland

This district includes specified wetlands within the shoreland area (i.e., generaly 1,000 feet from lakes and 300 feet from streams). See Article 11 for all of the special provisions that may apply.
Wellhead Protection
Show Description
This district includes those lands within 1,200 feet of a public wellhead. Provisions are intended to further control what land uses may occur so that the City’s municipal water supplies are reasonably protect from contamination. See Article 12 for all of the requirements.

Tax Increment District #3
Show Description
The City created tax increment financing district No. 3 in 2015 to spur private development in the downtown area. The City is able to spend money on public improvements and other things in the district as set forth the "project plan." Please contact the City for more details.
